The Willow Grove Community Development Corporation currently provides more than 58 quality, affordable rental housing units in over 47 properties throughout Eastern Montgomery County, including Abington Township, Ambler Borough, Hatboro, Horsham Township, and Upper Moreland Township. Our tenants live in a wide variety of homes, including single-family dwellings, duplexes, triplexes, townhouses and apartments.

Our organization's success is the result of collaborative contributions from the private sector, local government, businesses, faith organizations, and individuals who support our mission. It is through the continued support of our generous donors that we are able to provide and maintain affordable rental housing for low-to-moderate income individuals and families throughout Eastern Montgomery County.

Willow Grove CDC’s free community service programs help our lower-income neighbors by providing income tax preparation; by offering budgeting and homebuyer education; and by providing food, vouchers, and nutrition education to Montgomery County senior citizens.

Our organization is guided and supported by a vital and active Board of Directors, who volunteer their time and expertise to Willow Grove CDC. These directors meet monthly and help by serving on committees and tenant support teams, contributing donations, and working within the community to raise awareness for our programs. There are 2 professionals on staff who manage and coordinate programs and also provide direct services. Additional community volunteers help with programs and special projects. We always welcome the support of community donors and volunteers.

Many organizations preach their intention to change lives. The Willow Grove Community Development Corporation is one that makes it happen.

Founded in 1990 by local bankers, clergymen, attorneys, and realtors, the WGCDC was incorporated to address the need for affordable housing for low-to-moderate income people in the Willow Grove area. With Abington Township renovation funds, private mortgage financing, and the process of qualifying for a HUD home purchase, the first 3 units were brought on line in late 1991 and early 1992.

Since that time, we’ve received additional HUD funds through Abington Township, funds from Montgomery County with the HOME Assistance Program and the Community Block Grant Program, as well as, funds from the PA Dept. of Economic and Community Development.

After our residents move in, we offer many free services such as financial literacy training, credit and homebuyer counseling, budgeting, income tax preparation, and senior nutrition programs.  

In addition to the HUD funding, WGCDC has received funding from various public and private organizations, entities and institutions, including, but not limited, to Abington Township, Upper Moreland Township, Montgomery County, IRS, Temple University, The Montgomery County Foundation, The Philadelphia Foundation, HealthSpark Foundation, PNC Bank Foundation, Truist Bank, and many others, including small business and concerned and committed individuals.

Willow Grove CDC’s administrative and service offices are located at 210 Cedar Avenue, Willow Grove, PA 19090. We currently have 58 affordable rental units at 47 separate properties in Abington, Ambler, Hatboro, Horsham, and Upper Moreland. These are apartments, duplexes, town homes, and single homes. Our properties are served by 4 school districts: Abington, Hatboro-Horsham, Upper Moreland, and Wissahickon.

Willow Grove CDC’s rental program includes affordable rents, property management, leasing services, regular home visits from a tenant support team, and preventative maintenance. Other services offered to tenants as well as members of the Montgomery County community include:

• VITA tax preparation program (February through April)
• Senior farmers market program (June through August)
• Senior food box distribution program (monthly)
• Housing counseling and referrals
• Workshops on financial management and home ownership
